The problem
URL exclusion rules work when your blog sits under a path like /blog/. But many sites publish posts at the root (example.com/my-post/), so no pattern can match them. Today the only option is removing posts one by one, and every new post gets picked up again on the next discovery.
The idea
Yoast, Rank Math and most CMSs already split the sitemap by content type: post-sitemap.xml, page-sitemap.xml, event-sitemap.xml. Show every child sitemap from your sitemap index and let you turn monitoring off for any of them.
The result
Turn off post-sitemap.xml and every blog post is out of monitoring, future posts included. Pages, events and everything else stay monitored.
