Feature Overview
- Mention team members or guests in feedback comments using @mentions.
- Notify tagged users directly about specific feedback items via email, in-app, or other integrated notification systems.
Use Case
- When submitting feedback on behalf of clients, there’s no way to notify them directly within Marker.io without sending them a separate link or hoping they see the item in the list.
- In projects with multiple guests, users often need to involve others quickly by tagging them without relying on email threads or external tools.
- Tagging helps ensure the right people are aware of updates or questions related to specific feedback items.
Benefits
- Simplifies communication by allowing users to notify relevant people directly
- Reduces the need for external email threads
- Improves collaboration by making it easy to involve team members or guests in the context of the feedback discussion.

Any movement on this one? Came to request it and found I'd already done so a year and a half ago. 🤦♀

Lauren Gray: Hi Lauren,
Thanks for following up here! I totally understand how frustrating it is when you’ve been waiting on something so long.
We’ve been working on other improvements, and this feature has been a bit challenging. A tricky part is how to manage both Marker.io users and people in integrations like Trello or Jira etc. it is more complex than it seems.
That said, we haven’t forgotten about it and I really appreciate your patience.
You’ll be kept up to date on progress & Thanks for sticking with us! Joe

Please add the ability to send direct messages or include @[user] in feedback comments so that other team members can see comments on feedback items. When submitting requests on behalf of a client, it's not currently possible to notify them of the new feedback item without sending them the link or hoping they see the item in the list.

Would like to tag members/guests in feedback comments and then filter feedback by tags. The functionality is probably there when integrated but my company does not use any of the integrated software.

Would be a really good functionality for us and also a requirement if we should continue to use this tool in the future.

Can we add @mentions that will cc another guest/email address on the feedback notification? For projects that have many guests, this would help consolidate questions by not having to create an email thread asking everyone to look at a specific feedback item/URL. Instead of just notifying the original submitter, I could say "@email@address.com" and bring them into the conversation.

Sometimes feedback is added by someone other than the one who needs to be notified when the task is completed. There are also some occasions when we need to ask a question of someone else on the team within the ticket itself.

Ryan O: Very interesting too. To play devil's advocate, wouldn't you prefer to tag your team members inside your project management tool than in Marker.io?
Trying to understand the nuances of the use case :)

Gary Gaspar: Thanks for the reply! The @mention would be more for the client, who doesn't have access to our tool. Sometimes I would put a ticket in for them then want to @mention to tell them it's done, or client employee A puts in a ticket but client employee B is the one testing it.

Ryan O: love this!

Ryan O: Likewise, we have been struggling without being able to tag guest users recently. It would be really great to be able to @mention other members of the client's team who are reviewing the project, but don't have access to our internal PM tool.
